Abstract: Kenya was the first country to contribute USD 2 million to Rsif in 2018 followed by Rwanda, and Kenya is the former chair of PASET. There are 25 competitively selected Kenyan Rsif doctoral scholars (68% women) in four thematic areas in eight different Rsif African Host Universities across the continent. There are so far 3 Kenyan Rsif alumni and 32 publications by Kenyan Rsif students. Two Kenyan universities were competitively selected as Rsif African host universities: University of Nairobi in Energy, including renewables (PhD in Physics) and Kenyatta University in Minerals, Mining and Material Science area (PhD in Material Science). They are hosting a total of 37 Rsif funded PhD students from fourteen different nationalities. Seven Rsif funded research and innovation projects are under implementation in Kenya.
